It’s been almost 10 months since Trello was launched. Since then, so many clever folks have made it a part of their lives. These people are engineers, novelists, filmmakers, mothers… and we think it is now time to give them—you—the spotlight you deserve.
So we are announcing a mini-contest for all our users. We want to know:
How do you use Trello?
Tell us about the one board that you can’t live without, the way you’ve organized it (What lists do you use?), and why this board is important to you.
To enter, fill out the entry form here.
We will be giving out prizes in the following categories:
- Most Efficient Use of Trello
- Most Creative Use of Trello
- Best Use of Collaboration
Each winner will receive a Trello gift pack in the mail, and be featured on our blog. Just our way of saying thanks for being awesome!
You have until Saturday, June 30th (the last day in June) to get your entries in, and winners will be announced the following Tuesday, July 3rd.
Best of luck!
UPDATE: Due to the US Holiday this week and the impressive amount of responses we had, we need a few extra days to pick the winners. (Believe me, it’s really hard to choose—there have been so many good submissions!) Winners will now be announced on Friday, July 6.

My high school class used trello in the spring to collaborate on video projects with another country. We had 5 groups of kids, each with its own trello board.
That’s wonderful! To be entered in the contest, please tell us more via our entry form. Thanks!
We are environmental and package testing laboratory. We use trello to manage our production (testing phases) on different stages. For example, every job go through testing->reporting->QC->Release to the client -> Published Online. Also, there are some additional lists for long terms testing. It helps us stay on track and keep our customer service at a high level.
Thanks for being one of the first people to respond! To be entered in the contest, please tell us more via our entry form.
We use an Idea development board in our company, which is essential to us. The company produces films, web sites and other creative stuff, and wild ideas is an important part of the process.
Since we don’t want any judgement to be a part of the process until later, we start up with just throwing ideas into a list called “Ideas” (atm we also got Ideas 1, Ideas 2, Ideas 3 and Ideas 4…). Every now and then we sit down with the critical part of the brain activated and some coffee. We take on ideas one by one. The ones we like are moved into a “Maybe” or a “Good/keep going!”-list. The ones we don’t like are archived.
Later on we keep going with the good ideas, which are then moved to “Going on” and later “Concrete”. The moment we get an idea into running project phase , it gets a board on its own or is chopped up between people (using the assign function).
Trello has really helped us evolve as a company. Thanks!
Sorry, posted in the wrong place. Please delete the comment.
No worries
We’ll keep it up because it’s a great story. Thanks for sharing!
We used Trello for coordination in the implementation fase of a festivalweek. We will do so again next time.
Good coordination is key in stressful situations. Thanks to Trello we were able to manage the project well.
Everybody involved was instantly updated which avoid a lot of misunderstandings along the way.
Thumbs up for Trello!
That’s awesome.. we’re really happy that Trello can help coordinate and de-stress. Could you tell us more via the contest entry form? Much appreciated!
Tina, after you apply this research, the team Trello could show us the results? I am very interested in seeing how people around the world use Trello to improve my way of use.
Thanks!
Currently there are no plans to make all the results public, because we’d have to ask everyone if that’s okay with them. However we’ll be posting the 3 winners, with their permission.
Trello is the best. I am a UI Designer who came on board with my current company only recently. Reporting directly to the founders, I needed a tool to share designs, collect feedback and have a simple way to track multiple on-going projects. The engineering team uses Jira and everyone internally is accustomed to these large issue tracking systems. But for managing the design process, I needed something better. Since I’ve implemented Trello as a primary tool, the founders and others in the company now use Trello. Trello is easy, intuitive and fully customizable. I was originally turned on to Trello by the founder of a Clean Tech startup. I was hired to work on an iOS app project and Trello really lent itself to managing the design process every step of the way. Uploading images for feedback and managing who can access each project really made my day to day tasks so much easier. I recommend Trello to everyone who needs a simple way to manage a project!
Trello is being used for tracking the progress of my Google Summer of Code project. It has been critical in collaborating with my mentors, and discussing the right course. Trello is one of the reasons for a smooth road in pursuing my project. Kudos to the Trello team, and awaiting an Android app too!!!
