Trello characters celebrate Trello's newest security certifications.

While not always a bust-a-move-on-the-dance-floor kind of topic, data privacy and regulation are issues that need a mandatory RSVP from services you rely on. Trello strives for the highest levels of compliance to give you peace of mind—especially when your team at work has sensitive information to protect.

So even if you don't think of confetti and compliance together (beyond their alliteration alliance), we have some security news worth celebrating!

We’re excited to announce the next round of compliance and certifications for Trello:

  • SOC2 Type II and SOC3
  • ISO 27001/27018 and Privacy Shield for European Users

In case you’re wondering—no, these certifications are not a bunch of numbers and letters strung together randomly. Each of these certifications means a significant step forward for how Trello continuously improves its security and data management practices.

Ready to learn more? Let’s dive in and celebrate with some high fives!

Trello Rocks The SOC(k)s

SOC 2 and SOC 3 (System and Organization Controls) reports are certified by a third-party auditor and are regularly refreshed. Trello’s reports provide assurance on controls relevant to security, availability, and confidentiality.

This certification helps security-conscious businesses decide which SaaS tools follow industry-certified practices. The certification process involves multiple teams at Trello, including legal, IT, engineering, HR, and operations to regularly meet audit requirements on an ongoing basis.

You Can Trust In Our Process

Our newly minted certifications don’t stop with safeguarding customer data and privacy, we also want to make sure that we uphold the best standards when it comes to our own internal processes, too.

Our ISO27001 and ISO27018 certifications demonstrate Trello’s higher standard when it comes to managing our information security and how we handle each user’s personally identifiable information.  This means Trello goes above and beyond to make sure that we follow best practices when it comes to managing sensitive information.

Near Or Far: We’ve Got Europe Covered

Last but not least, we can’t forget about our dedicated users in Europe. Our most recent Privacy Shield certifications enable Trello users in Europe to have additional protections if their information is moved outside of Europe to the United States.

Setting A Higher Standard For Security 🏆

Ensuring that customer data is securely handled and stored is of the utmost importance to Trello.
