Scale Security And Productivity With New Admin Abilities In Trello Enterprise

New admin abilities in Trello Enterprise

In our never-ending quest to be the best security sidekick for our Enterprise teams, we’re excited to announce new admin permissions for Trello Enterprise customers.

These new permissions help admins easily set guardrails on team visibility, team membership, board creation, and attachments across their organization. Enterprise admins now have a clearer picture on how their teams use Trello, and more efficient ways to carry out vital security policies.

But enough chit chat, let’s get to the good stuff.

Customize All Team Settings With A Few Clicks

A great admin lets the team do their best work, safely, without too many bureaucratic roadblocks. And the path to greatness is much smoother when it’s easy to enforce security and company policies within the tools being used.

Previously, Enterprise admins had to click into each team to manage their settings individually. Now, Enterprise admins can organize and control what their team admins can do from one single view.

  • Team Visibility Controls: Choose to make all Enterprise teams private, or let team admins decide on their visibility within the organization.
  • Team Membership Restrictions: Determine if team admins can manage who can join their teams.
  • Board Creation Restrictions: Allow team admins to dictate whether team members can create public, team visible, and/or private boards within a team.
  • Team Board Invite Restrictions: Decide if team admins can manage who can be invited to team boards.

You Can’t Attach This

It’s a common problem: Different teams use different tools to share files, and constantly updating access permissions can be a real time waster.

With the new Attachment Restriction setting, you can be the office hero and prevent file sharing chaos by enforcing your preferred file share service.

Only approved file share links can be included on Trello cards. This new setting also lets you control how your teams upload to Trello, whether by file or by link.

An important thing to note: This attachment restriction does not apply to attaching Trello cards and boards to other Trello cards. Users will still be able to attach cards and boards—Trello attachment types cannot be disabled at the admin level.

Now if we could only figure out how to solve the random file naming problem… 🤔
